Designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí, the great exponent of Catalan Modernism. A work from his naturalist period, where he combines the inspiration drawn from the organic forms of nature with enormous creative freedom. UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984
A Catholic basilica designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí. Started in 1882, it is still under construction. It is the finest example of Catalan modernist architecture. It is the most visited church in Europe after St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.
The Palau de la Música Catalana is an architectural pearl in the Catalan modernist style, and the only concert hall that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site (4th December, 1997). The building is located in the Sant Pere district, one of the most beautiful areas of Barcelona.
One of the most iconic spaces in the city. Built during the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition, it is the approach to the district of Montjuïc, where the exhibition centre, the Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña (National Art Museum of Catalonia) and the Venetian Towers are all located.
The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc and the other ornamental fountains in Avenida Reina Maria Cristina are hydraulic works of art designed by Carlos Buïgas and built in 1929 for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition. It comes alive with a choreographed interplay of light, colour, water and music.
