Pestana Quinta do Arco

The Rose Garden is in the north of Madeira, more specifically in Arco de São Jorge in Santana. Besides its unique beauty and its surrounding Laurissilva Forest, it is in itself a common cultural and botanical heritage of all Madeirans and Portuguese. It is one of the five most famous rose gardens in Europe and one of the largest in the world.

The Flower Festival is the festive season announcing the arrival of Spring. The flowers, colours and smells permeate through the streets of the city and carry the island’s name across frontiers.

The Farmers' Market, inaugurated in 1940, features New State architecture, including large tile panels that decorate the facade, the entrance and the fishmonger.
